McLean Youth Basketball, a member or McLean Youth Athletics, is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to bringing a quality basketball program to children ages 6 through 18 in the McLean area. We welcome all children who are interested in playing regardless of experience and athletic ability. There are several different levels of play including a developmental program; developmental transitional program; house league program; and, we sponsor select/travel teams that compete in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL).
Playing groups are determined by the grade each player entered that fall. Our youngest players must be in 1st grade or 6 years old by September 30th. All new players are required to show proof of birthday (copy of birth certificate or passport). This can be mailed to the Administrator at:
McLean Youth Basketball
P.O. Box 7637
McLean, VA 22106
House League and Select/Travel Players must go through the evaluation process for their program. Basketball teams are not organized by neighborhoods, but by ability levels. Part of the positive experience gained by playing a team sport is to meet new people and make new friends. The only exception is the Developmental League (there are no evaluations and players can request placement preferences). Tryouts and evaluation sessions will be posted online.
